About us

Flying Boats Brewing started in a garage in 2015 on a 2 BBL system, built out of years of home brewing and recipe development. In 2018 we moved into our current space in the Dieppe industrial park with a 15 BBL brewhouse and a canning line, and we've been growing steadily ever since. Today we produce a full range of craft beers, a line of non-alcoholic beers under FLY Craft Beer, and RTD coolers under JETPOP — all out of one brewhouse, by a small team.

Our name and our beers are a nod to the transportation history of southeastern New Brunswick — aviation, railways, ships, and highways. We take that local-roots thing seriously: we're a Dieppe brewery, run by people who live here, making beer for people who drink it here. We also hold a food-grade license and are serious about the quality and consistency of everything that leaves the building.

The team is small — which means everyone gets their hands on every part of the process and everyone's work is visible. That's the kind of place we are, and it's the kind of person we're looking for.

About the role

We're looking for a Brewer / Cellar Operator to join our production team, reporting to our Head Brewer and Operations Manager. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on the production side of the brewery: running brew days, managing the cellar, operating the centrifuge, and handling de-alcoholization.

This isn't an "assistant brewer" role where you watch someone else brew. You'll run brew days on your own once you're up to speed, and you'll own day-to-day cellar operations. Like everyone on our small team, you'll also pitch in on packaging and other production work when needed — but the core of your role is brewing and cellaring.

What you'll actually do

  • Run brew days independently on our 20HL system
  • Own cellar operations: transfers, dry-hopping, carbonation, tank management
  • Operate our centrifuge and de-alcoholization equipment
  • Keep detailed brew logs and contribute to QA data collection
  • Maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and keep the brewhouse and cellar clean
  • Work closely with our Head Brewer on recipe execution and process improvements
  • Support the rest of the team on packaging and general production when needed
  • Cover for teammates when they're on vacation — we all pitch in

What we're looking for

Required:

  • 1–3+ years of commercial brewing experience, OR a brewing school credential with co-op/internship experience
  • Comfortable running a brew day without someone looking over your shoulder
  • Able to lift 25kg+ repeatedly (grain bags, hops, kegs) and work on your feet all day
  • Comfortable working around hot liquor, CO2, caustic, and pressurized vessels
  • Available for occasional early mornings or afternoon during busy packaging weeks
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and actually care about making good beer

Assets (not required):

  • Experience with de-alcoholization equipment
  • Centrifuge experience
  • Experience brewing non-alcoholic beer or RTD products
  • QC/Laboratory experience
  • Sensory training or cicerone coursework

What we offer

  • $50,000/year salary
  • Benefits package (Medical / Dental / Life, etc.)
  • Paid time off & sick days
  • Small team where your work is visible and your input matters
  • Real ownership of the cellar and a direct hand in brewing
  • Room to grow as we grow
  • Staff beer allocation
  • A workplace that respects your time off

How to apply

Fill out the form below. Send your resume and a short note (a paragraph is fine) telling us what you've brewed, what system you've worked on, and why this role interests you. No formal cover letter needed — we care more about what you've actually done.

Applications reviewed as they come in. We'll close the posting once we find the right person.
